My SLA

TAT (turn-around-time) is a piece of most SLAs (service-level agreements). It's a commitment incorporated into a contract that sets expectations on response times. And while human-to-human contact isn't governed by a literal contract, it does have social one that deserves to be honored.

If you're trying to reach me - here's my commitment:

Medium Commitment Likely
Emails* 1 week probably within a few days
Texts* 2 days probably the same day
Missed Calls same-day probably within hours

If you don't get a response from me within the committed timeframes above, that means (in order of likeliness):

  1. I'm somewhere with limited access to technology - have you checked what I'm doing right now?
  2. I'm ignoring you.
  3. Something is really wrong.

*I intentionally respond slowly to emails and texts, and to that end keep notifications for both turned off completely. Generally, I subscribe to the philosophy that higher bandwidth connections are better.
